Board of Directors

  • Sarah Ward

Sarah Ward was born and reared in Knightstown, and is a graduate of the Academy, Lincoln Christian College, Indiana University, and George Williams College.

After teaching classroom music in Cedar Lake, Indiana, serving as the national youth director for the Woman’s Christian Temperance Union in Evanston, Illinois, and another stint as music teacher in Wheeling, Illinois, she happily returned home to Knightstown in 1981. She served two terms on the Knightstown School Board and recently completed two terms on the Town Council. She has served in various roles for the Woman’s Christian Temperance on the local, state, national, and world levels. She is an active member of the Knightstown Christian Church.

Because of her father’s active involvement with Glen Cove Cemetery as the treasurer for 40 years with secretarial assistance from her mother, she naturally cared about the cemetery and became involved after the Odd Fellows’ Lodge turned the cemetery over to the town. She looks forward to the role the Board of Glen Cove Heritage Foundation will play in maintaining the cemetery and developing new programs.

  • Linda Lashbrook

Linda is a native of Knightstown and a graduate of the Academy, Indiana State University, and Butler University. Her career also included a stint working with the United Way in Marion County, growing her passion for community engagement.

Linda is a member of Beautify Knightstown, American Legion Auxiliary, Psi Iota Xi, Academy Place Board, and Glen Cove Heritage Foundation, among other, and has served on the CAB School Board.

She maintains her lifelong interest in music as a member of the Brandywine Winds and, formerly, Harmony, Inc.

Glen Cove was part of her growing up years with frequent family visits. Preserving the heritage and beauty the cemetery brings to the community is a value that brings her to this board.

Mitch and his wife, Sheryl, have been married 57 years and have 3 grown children. They are members of the Knightstown First Christian Church where Mitch serves as deacon.

Mitch is presently employed with Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service where he services as family assistant for 15 years. He was the 2021 Employee of the Year.

Kate works at Countrpart, a custom software and technology consulting company based in Fishers, as a Project Manager and Client Operations Specialist. Her journey with Glen Cove began by donating her efforts to building this website, and her investment grew from there.

She is also a member of the Women's Fund of Hancock County and the White Family Foundation. Kate is married with no children. In their free time, she and her husband prioritize spending time with the family, friends, and pets.
